FREQUENT QUESTIONS

What is Ombre Eyebrow Tattoo?

Instead of creating brow hair strokes like Microblading, this technique is a natural shading with a gradient effect from the beginning of the brow to the end, starting from light and fading to dark, it gives your brow a sharp yet natural look.

What other permanent makeup services do you perform?

I also do color correction, tattoo removal, full lips, eyeliners and cosmetics without laser.

It hurt?

We get mixed reviews about pain. Each person has a different level of sensitivity, so topical anesthetics are applied before and during treatment to relieve any sensations or discomfort. Some clients naturally feel one eyebrow more sore than the other. You will hear a scratching noise / sensation at all times. Music is usually played during the procedure, however feel free to bring your own headphones and music to distract you.

It is safe?

Absolutely. All tools used are disposable.

Will I be bloated?

It will not be puffy, you may have slightly red skin around your eyebrows, but this would last for about a day.

Will I need a touch-up?

Most likely. Within a week of your first treatment, the color will fade significantly and for the next four to six weeks it may continue to fade by up to 50%. This is considered an extremely positive development, as it gives you time to reflect on its shape and color. After this period, your follow-up appointment is made. At this point, the changes you would like to make are discussed.

How often do I need a touch-up?

To keep the results of your eyebrow tattoos looking fresh, we recommend a touch-up every year.

How long does it last?

It will last as long as it lasts. The length of your brows will vary depending on your skin type, depending on how well you absorb pigment during the session and how dark you are willing to go depending on the scenario. After a touch-up, the brows are expected to last 1 to 5 years depending on your preferred shade, skin retention, sun exposure time, and daily skin routines (more exfoliating products, the faster they fade).

Why do I need a touch-up if it is semi-permanent?

Because the color is implanted in the facial area, there tends to be more fluid circulation than in other parts of the body. Your face is the one that wears the most of any part of you (sun exposure, food, facial products), the list goes on and on. All of these things make permanent color fade, which is why it needs a touch up.

How long does it take?

The procedure takes about two hours, sometimes more, sometimes less. Allow a solid 3 hour window for your appointment. It may not take that long, but this is not something you want to rush.

Do I need to take a day off from work?

No. There is no downtime associated with the treatment. The redness and swelling will dissipate an hour later. Your eyebrows will appear darker at first, but not so dark that you cannot carry out your activities of daily living.

How long does it take to heal?

The healing time varies from one individual to another. It usually takes between a week and 14 days for the epithelial scab to form and shed. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then it takes a while for the pigment to settle on the skin. It should be a good month before you consider the entire process.

How is the proccess?

Eyebrow tattooing is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch-up 6-10 weeks later. After taking your photo from before, I will draw the eyebrow design in pencil so you have an idea of the shape. (Note that nobody's face is fully symmetrical and should be realistic to your expectations. There is no point trying to make the eyebrows identical or match a photo of your favorite celebrities' eyebrows if your face shape is not. looks nothing like theirs). Once we've agreed on a final shape (ultimately it's your decision, but I'll always voice my opinion on what I think will suit you aesthetically), I'll shape your brows and then we'll decide on the color. Shortly after that, a topical anesthetic will be administered to ensure comfort. Once you are numb, the pigment is deposited. During healing, it is normal to experience some loss of pigment; that's why we have retouching in place.

What can't I do after the procedure?

It is recommended to keep the skin clean and dry, that is, do not swim, sweat or wet the area in any other way; no tanning or prolonged exposure to the sun; Do not pinch, peel, scratch or rub the tattoo, this can result in loss of color and scarring. You can still wash your hair and face, and once they have healed, you will treat them as if they were your own.

How can I extend the life of the procedure?

Your brows will last longer if you apply sunscreen frequently and avoid abrasive facials in the brow area.

How will you choose my color?

We start based on your skin tone and the natural hair of your eyebrows. Clients who are used to not having eyebrows for a long time may find themselves challenging in these few weeks. I usually advise clients who do not have brows to start using brow pencil or shading for a while before the process to get used to having brows.

Do I have to shave my eyebrows?

No. Every effort is made to retain all natural hair and integrate it into the permanent brow design. In some cases, where natural brow shaping is required, it may be necessary to remove a few hairs here and there to create a clean and aesthetically pleasing result.

I've heard that some clients just don't retain the pigment even after a few visits. Could this happen?

Yes, it happens and yes, it is true! Often times, a third appointment is scheduled so that the client has the opportunity to return and I have the opportunity to review the work and work out any adjustments (if any) that may be necessary. Clients often cancel this appointment as everything is usually fine, however there are some who may need an extra brush or two to finish the look. Some women's skin may react to the trauma of the tattoo, and the skin may attempt to expel the foreign body of pigment producing an extreme scab, eventually falling off taking all of the pigment with it. There is a condition called a pigment allergy (allergy to PPD, a condition known to dermatologists) or symptoms of an autoimmune disease (the client may not even be aware of it).

Can you guarantee your work?

Unfortunately, I can't. The reaction of the skin is different for each person and many factors must be taken into account. Skin type, age, scars, diet, stress levels, facial products used, etc. play a key role in your results, so it is important to know that more than one touch-up may be necessary. Your face is important to me and I will act on my experience and knowledge to give you my best. But there are no guarantees in this industry. Please think about it before you decide to do it.

What if I don't like it?

Although the Ombre shading tattoo is considered semi-permanent, the procedure allows flexibility for color or shape change to some extent. However, I will work closely with you to ensure that you are satisfied with the proposed technique. I will allow you to have as much control over the procedure as possible, so there is very little room for error. If you don't like the decision you made, the touch-up can be canceled and the pigmented area naturally fades over time. If you are not 100% sure that you would benefit from this procedure, opt for more temporary options.

BEFORE THE PROCEDURE

Permanent cosmetic enhancements typically require multiple application sessions. To achieve the best results, you will be asked to return for at least one control procedure six to ten weeks after the initial application.

Be prepared for the color intensity to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the procedure. This will decrease and become smoother as the skin heals. This process can take up to 14 days.

  • DO NOT take aspirin, fish oil, niacin, vitamin E, and / or ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 72 hours before your procedure. Tylenol is fine.
  • DO NOT exercise 24 hours before your procedure.
  • AVOID the sun and tanning one week before your procedure.
  • Discontinue Glycolics, Retin-A, or Retinol products 4 weeks prior to scheduled appointment.
  • DO NOT use AHA skin care products near the enhancement area 2 weeks before and after your procedure.
  • If you have had any cosmetic surgical procedures on the face area, please allow TWO MONTHS for it to fully heal before the brow tattoo procedure.
  • DO NOT consume alcoholic beverages 24 HOURS prior to your scheduled appointment. This will prevent any excessive bleeding, oozing, and minimize swelling during the procedure.
  • If there are open wounds, pimples, bruises or any other skin irritation in the area; wait for them to heal completely before going to your scheduled appointment.
  • Please contact immediately if rescheduling is necessary due to this matter.
  • Do not pluck, thread, or tint your eyebrows a week before the procedure (I will shave off excess hair)
  • No chemical peels or facials are allowed one week prior to your scheduled appointment.
  • If there is any exfoliation product at home, use it on the brow area a week before the appointment so that the skin absorbs the pigments easily during the procedure.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE

  • During the first few days, the brows will appear dark and very defined before the scabbing phase. The thickness will gradually decrease as the days go by.
  • You may notice whiteness or paleness around the area, this is quite normal and will go away in 12 hours. If you find any leaky lymphatic fluid or blood, you can gently clean the area with cold boiled water and gauze, gently patting the moisture away.
  • The redness, swelling, and itching are normal and should completely disappear the next day. If the area feels unbearable to certain people who have a poor tolerance for pain, use a clean ice pack for comfort.
  • You will go through three phases of healing: 1-cure, 2-peel, and 3-fade.
  • Once the brow area begins to peel, it will appear flaky and unappealing. The area may feel a bit dry. Do not pinch or pull the treated area as it will cause loss of pigment.

*** NOTE ***:

  • Everyone cures and accepts pigment differently. We offer the same service for all clients, but retention depends on their skin and lifestyle.
  • When you leave the studio, your eyebrow tattoos are intact. That's the job of the technician. There are NO GUARANTEES on how your body will heal them. If they fade, blur, or don't take well, that's the result of YOUR skin, your lifestyle ... not a result of technique or technician. No one knows how the client's skin will heal. This is a potential risk that all clients take by consenting to this procedure..
  • Permanent makeup is an art, NOT a science. Customer results will vary and a pencil or powder will still need to be used. We have no control over your body's healing process and each time a procedure is performed, the pigment will have less retention due to scar tissue.
  • If you're in the sun a lot, have oily skin, use anti-aging creams, retinal / retinol products, acidic cleansers, natural elements, regular chemical peels, or exercise frequently, your permanent makeup will fade prematurely. The better you take care of the treated area and follow the aftercare provided, the longer it will last.
  • Nobody's face is totally symmetrical and you must be realistic with your expectations. There is no point trying to make the eyebrows identical, even if you used a stencil on your eyebrows, they will still look different due to our bone structure not being symmetrical. One brow bone will always be dominant / protruding or slightly higher than the other, also the side you sleep on plays an important role. We don't use the "P" word when we do permanent makeup. Sisters, NOT twins is used universally in this field.
